weather or not...

i think i talk about the weather a lot.

this is a new quirk of mine, which seems to have developed ever since i froze. so, like...october?

last night, uncle sugar warned me of hurricane winds coming our way. i brightened and just wanted to jump into his lap at that genius news.

maybe our roof will fly off and we can move to the beach! i suggested smartly.

he looked a bit disgusted at my response. i think he asked on which planet was i living. then told me i stink at geometry. because no matter how hard i wish, the giant tree next door can't possibly fall at the angle needed to demolish our home while we're at the grocery. also. he suggested that i might want to stop asking the neighbors if they know any arsonists.

apparently, that would be bad for resale.

if you have any brilliant ideas for getting me to a beach, will you share? i'll wait right here. i'm the one wearing mittens.

i'm a dope. i didn't really even want to tell you any of the above. i wanted to tell you there's a new print in the shoppe. the red is drop-dead fantastic. and there's two really gorgeous blooms up on the sweeterie today. which kind of stinks because i had a funny little story all ready about a neighborhood alcoholic. {sigh.} maybe tomorrow...

last night the weatherman said there are two more winter storms headed our way in the next five days. i looked at mr. darling and told him if he needed me i would be packing, that i have every intention of heading to florida at first light.

he did not take me seriously. i hate when he does that.

everything is so much more wonderful at the beach, isn't it?

i don't get nearly enough storms. not really good ones that make you want to stay inside, wrap yourself in a blanket and stare out the windows marveling at it all. what i do have is lots of beach, though i'm told the pacific is a bit cold right now. we do, however, have seals, right there on the beach. i always want to take a nap with them in the sunshine.

Oh honey I am so sorry and I hope its almost over for you. Not sure if this makes you feel better but Florida has been having horrible weather for them. Says my Auntie. Come stop by today as you are one of my favorite comments posts...

karey, you made me blush all over someone's page today. i think i left a mark.
i sure do treasure you.
and next time i take the baby to the beach i will have her collect a rock in your name.
it would sound a bit more romantic to say a seashell but she has a strong love for rocks. she is not to be swayed.

hmmm. well, oakland doesn't really have any great beaches nearby for sunbathing but if you came out i would set up some heat lamps, truck in sand and get joslyn to find some app that goes, "whoosh, whoosh!" to make you think you were at the ocean. wow. does that sound creepy? hehe.

aww, shayna. i thought you were going to offer up a friend who moonlights as an arsonist.

i guess this option'd be cool, too.

I can work out the angle at which your tree needs to fall to smash up your house... just done all that stuff in my maths subject. If it is any consolation... we are SWELTERING down in this hemisphere. At least you are clean in the cold... heat, humidity, sweating.... it's filthy... I hate sweating.. I hate my makeup sliding off my face as soon as I put it on. It's hard to get cool. Give me some snow and a roaring fire any day! You always want what you can't have, hey?!! A-M xx PS You should see your truffle prints lined up on my wall next to my bed.... perfection. The magazine photographer even took a shot of them. I picked up the hot pink in them with a gorgeous little vase of hot pink roses placed strategically on my bedside so the photographer couldn't resist! Ha, my cunning plan worked! Stay tuned! A-M xx

hello? Disneyland, So Cal...beaches...ME? but me isn't very nice now is it?

I'm sure I could find you a swell beach rental. Sadly it would only be at a weeks time and I think Uncle Sugar needs to be back for something important i'm sure.

that's as good as I've got.

and just to tell you today is sunny and clear about 69 degrees. just sayin' ;)

sarasota has a pretty great beach. not that i'm biased or anything. :)

but laura's right--it has been awfully cold (for us) here this winter. ten seems to want to chill us. but maybe that'll make the thawing process even more fun?

I have been trying to move to the beach for 30 years...no such luck.
But on a lighter note, I can't wait to hear about the neighborhood alcoholic!

I don't have any solutions. I'm looking for something of the same. That, or a {practical} reason to move back into NYC.
